A book as you describe already exist, its called HELP File but no one wants
to RTFM, Me included.

I am a bit surprised that no one has come up with a utility to output the
setup/configuration for N1MM, Logger 32, or any of the other logging
programs and setups for all the software that we use.  

I don't know what it would take, but it definitely could be of value to the
computer challenged types, like myself.
