I suspect that most references to "pig farmers" has nothing to do with 
their occupations.  It has more to do with their intentional QRM to 
contesters near their chosen frequencies.  Any type of harassment you 
can think of to QRM contesters takes place and except for two spot 
frequencies on 20M, it is nearly all on 75M SSB.
