It's three hours into the contest and the Skimmers are posting stations
above 1850 kHz now. Maybe it was propagation or not enough stations on
the air in the beginning. Don't know... 160m seems to be in pretty good
shape from the Upper Midwest for this early into the evening.

So if you're going to be CQing / RUNning... and want the benefit of
being 'auto spotted'... you will want to stick in the lower 50 kHz of
the band. At least that's what I am seeing here using the AE5E node 90
minutes into the contest.
