I made a short video related to CQWW CW that I thought might be of interest:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4K2KvlDJ5I
(best viewed fullscreen at HD resolution).
It shows an azimuthal map of the world (from DxAtlas), with ZL at the
center, during the second day of the contest. The colored dots are geocoded
RBN spots for stations either were either heard in ZL, or where ZL was heard
at a remote Skimmer.
The dots are colored by band: aqua 80m, yellow 40m, magenta 20m, blue 15m,
red 10m. Larger dots represent multiple stations that resolve to the same
latitude/longitude.
You can see how radio propagation between ZL and the rest of the world
changes with the sun's position, gray line, and so on.
The period from 25 Nov 2012 1219Z to 2155Z (about 9 hours) is compressed
into 37 seconds.
