My sister is a math teacher at the University of Wisconsin. They administer
final exams by class number, not necessarily by specific instructor, i.e.
they have various time slots available for one particular class that may
have been taught by several different instructors. You don't have to take
the final exam under the supervision of the instructor you had.
A couple years ago my sister was supervising one of the final exam sessions
and saw a girl in the group who she didn't recognize. That in itself may
not be a problem, as the girl may not have been in her class. But when the
girl turned in her exam, my sister noticed it had the name on it of one of
her students. The girl who took the exam was NOT the girl whose name was on
the exam.
I am not sure of the results but I think the consequences were very serious.
