Talks like this (regarding remote control, skimmers, CW decoders,
assistance, etc) will go on and on until the amateur community comes to a
clear understanding and definition what constitutes an amateur radio
contact.
Until then, all discussions are useless because they will resume each time
some kind of new "technology" comes up.
Do you want yet another possible topic to discuss in this list in a half a
year? Let me offer you one.
A CW decoder at a remote station. The operator does not have to listen to
any signal. He just gets ready made decoded texts on the screen. Extremely
small text packets travel back and forth much faster than stream audio.
Obviously it helps fighting eventual internet latency and the whole
operation becomes more fast and accurate. Is it a technological advancement?
Perhaps... Does it let others work a juicy multiplier? Yes. Is it fun?
Well...
Gents, we don't have rules established. Period.
