April is a busy month on the QSO party circuit with two weekends each
having three concurrent QSO parties -- Georgia-New Mexico-Montana
followed closely by Michigan-South Dakota-Ontario.
I've recently added support in CQ/X for operating each of those two
"multi-QPs" seamlessly as a single contest including log-splitting
capability when its time to submit to the sponsors. So no need to log
one QSO party in the machine while scribbling Qs from the others on
paper. Work 'em all in the machine.
Then around the end of April there's the 15th running of the
ever-popular Florida QSO Party, this year with a new "spelling bee"
twist to celebrate the fifteen year FQP anniversary. It's guaranteed to
create a lot of buzz in the pileups as the swarm tries to work the 1x1's.
So it seemed like it would be useful to add support in CQ/X for tracking
how you're doing as you attempt to work all 15 of those 1x1 calls.
Screen shots can be found on the Features page of www.no5w.com.
To use these features you'll need CQ/X version 1.7.9 patched through
179-09 available from the same web site.
Have fun in the April multi-QPs and in the "spelling bee". Hope to hear
you in the pileups.
