In my cold basement shack in Wisconsin I find keeping my feet warm is
important to comfort. The cement floor really sucks the heat out of them.
A layer of carpet helps, but is not enough.
My solution is a foot rest made of scrap plywood. Besides keeping the feet
off the floor, it relieves pressure on the lower legs and keeps the foot
switch in place.
