I can imagine that it can be very effective if enough people know you by
those phonetics.
Just for the record, I didn't day the OM was juvenile, just the way that he
pronounced his call *sounded* juvenile to me.
Come to think of it, I once had a QSO with W1FDY and he pronounced it as
"Whiskey One Frozen Darn Yankee"
I still remember it because of the way he pronounced it. So I guess in a way
it does make some sense after all.
That said, it still sounds silly to me...;-)
