The FT-2000 command set is very similar to Kenwood's. However, Yaesu
engineer's did not copy it exactly (so I don't think Kenwood support will
work).
Engineers always seem to prefer to re-invent the wheel :-(

According to the TR-Log reflector, 'no'. The FT2000 uses a different
command set than prior Yaesu radios.
