I must confess that I do enjoy working Sandy and hearing her cheerful,
friendly (but take-charge) voice in SSB Contests that I s-o-m-e-t-i-m-e-s
find myself in until I can't take it anymore :^)
Sandy and Bob, K8IA, seem to have a real cool arrangement - she works the
SSB Contests and he usually rocks 'n rolls in the CW events. What a great
way to avoid domestic contest scheduling conflicts! They are also fun
people off the air (I hope you both make Visalia this year !!!).
I will also confess it is kinda fun once in a while to put an actual voice
with a familiar diehard CW op callsign. That being said, I am really glad
it will be the CW version of the NAQP on Saturday.
Tnx to Doug, KR2Q, for more nice nostalgia with his recap of the infamous
FB8XX T5 signal and SU1IM (my 1st SU). I think those good-old-days of no
packet or cluster were the best and most exciting days of DX'ing. But I
also think we are now in the best (and exciting) days of Contesting (a/k/a
RadioSport) that need to be enjoyed to the fullest while we are still here
and able - to whatever degree that might be for each person.
73 & CU in the CW NAQP.
