Thanks Randy, Field Day, NAQP, and the WPX are good contests for beginners.
I would like to have something either tailored to the new licensee or somehow
make it clear that as a new person you really need to try out the WPX, NAQP, or
Field Day contests.
The goals are...
1. get them to do it.
2. have the experience a positive one so that they return to contesting.
A solution may be to push one of the existing contests as the preferred entry
level contest. Field day may be the best choice.
