The Central Texas DX and Contest Club (CTDXCC) hosted the second
annual CW Pileup Competition at the Austin Summerfest amateur radio
convention last weekend in Austin, Texas. The competition was based on
a pileup file provided by Tom N0SS of the Kansas City DX Club, and the
competition was the same basic format as the KCDXC Dayton Hamvention CW
Pileup Competitions: 100 call signs sent in about 4 minutes. Chuck NO5W
wrote custom software to allow computer logging by competitors and a
real-time scoreboard (set up in another room via wireless networking)
for spectators. It was a fun competition. Here are the results:

The winner, Gary W5ZL, will be one of seven Americans traveling to
Obzor, Bulgaria this September to compete in the Ninth IARU High Speed
Telegraphy World Championships. This is the first year that an IARU
Region II country will send a multi-person team to the world
championships:
