Current wisdom is avoid all versions. :-( Actually I bought a 2.2 GHz Pentium
Dual Core built by Systemax in Ohio from Tiger Direct and it came with Vist
Home Basic. That's the one that according to rumor is so poor that Micro$oft
didn't even want to name Vista. It works fine running N1MM and Logger32, and a
lot of other 32 bit software, after reading some on it and learning my way
around. So far, so good. Oh, by the way, this computer comes with an LPT port
and a COM port with a header connector for the second COM port, in addition to
6 USB ports. All workee FB. It was a good deal.
Just a satisfied customer.

PS Buy a computer with a version of Vista and then look for the advanced
upgrade deals for Windows 7, when it comes out.

Sometime soon I need to pull the trigger on a new PC for the shack.
Critical applications will be:
WriteLog (current V10.72E)
Logger32 (current V3.20)
microHAM Router (current V7.2.4)
Is there any style of VISTA that I should avoid?
