Pretty simple. If nobody spots, then there are no spots.

More spots encourages more spots. Spots help competitors in all classes and
those not competing. I don't spot stations that I need for a mult until I
work the station.

Maybe just maybe there is more to contesting than just winning. How about
giving something back to the community?

My personal opinion is that the K3LR and W3LPL teams (as well as most
others) participate in the cluster postings in the same spirit of 'friendly
competition' that can ultimately lead to more QSO and Mult opportunities for
*all* the players in the game. The massive posts by K3LR and W3LPL
demonstrate that they are also 'givers', and not just 'takers'. What goes
around generally comes around.

I've observed the same type of 'friendly competition' postings between both
NCCC and PVRC players in the ARRL SS. However, I did get chastised later by
a fellow NCCC member for adding 'GO PVRC!!!' to my post for PVRC pal
Jim/WX3B. That's OK, 'cuz we still prevailed *that* year ;^)

IMHO, for all those operating in the Assisted Category, more posts are
better than less. as long as they are not 'cheater spots' of any nature.
