Bruce, first thanks for your great hamradio work over the years. EU is small continent with 3 time zones but strong nationalism :-) There is a difference between propagation especially on the North. East and West split is on number of UA/JA versus USA contacts. Keep EU united and ignore debates similar to Right over Left Coast and huge Texas advantage.
