Subject: [CQ-Contest] JOTA this weekend
Remember this weekend is the Jamboree On The Air
http://www.arrl.org/scouts/jota/. Scout groups around the world will be
looking for contacts all weekend. Please get on and say hi to some scouts,
it's a great way to show kids how ham radio works.
I will be with NE1C which will be set up in the Rice Wildlife Sanctuary in
Peru, Ma just for the day on Saturday. There may be some operation from my
home station Friday night just to get warmed up. But during the day
Saturday we will be on HF, VHF, and probably IRLP node 7270 which will be
set up at my station temporarily Friday night through Saturday.
I would expect most of the local activity will be on 20m and 40m and maybe
higher bands during the day if they open up a bit for dx. We will likely be
checking in periodically on 146.91 to show how HT's and VHF repeaters work.
