I'm 100% in agreement with you, Dave.  I looked at the ARRL letter and I 
didn't even see it mentioned in that.  The whole contest scene is being 
overrun with rediculous contests.  As it is there are many people who don't 
read the rules for the contest they are in.  The Makrothen says send Grid 
Locator.  I have seen, 599 (state) (grid), etc.  I enjoy the contact, but 
the info being sent isn't necessary.
