Hello! This e-mail is to invite all contesters to have a go in the European Sprint contests 2006. Please remember that, starting this year, we made a couple of chages to the Eu Sprint rules. The first change will apply to ALL the four events. The time has been moved 1 (one) hour ahead. The four Sprints will begin at 16:00 UTC and will end at 19:59 UTC. The second change will apply only to the two SPRING events. Modes will be switched so the first 2006 Sprint (April 8) will be CW (Manager G4BUO). The second 2006 event (April 15) will be SSB (Manager 9A6XX). If you're wondering which software to use, DL2NBU's program has been written specially for this contest. It is very much like K1EA's CT, and it is FREE for download from the new Eu Sprint web site <http://www.eusprint.com>. SD by EI5DI, TRLog by N6TR, WriteLog, Win-Test, N1MM Contest Logger (and many others) all support the Eu Sprint, and if you prefer to log on paper, that's fine as well. We accept any fixed column ASCII file, too. So, we hope you will give the Sprints a try in April and in October, and then send your logs to <eusprint@kkn.net>. The full Eu Sprint rules are shown below. 73 from the EU Sprint Gang G4BUO, I2UIY, OK2FD & 9A6XX ------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Eu Sprint: - download the FREE software, - rules in English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portugese, Russian, Czech, German, Polish, Greek, Croatian - all past results from 1994, - download full logs and ubn reports, - all time records, - find more information about Log Checking, - and much more about the Eu Sprint.... He must thereafter move AT LEAST 2 (two) kHz before he may call another station or before he may solicit again (CQ, QRZ?, etc.) other calls. VALID CONTACTS: valid contacts are QSOs correctly logged and confirmed. Each operator may use ONE and ONLY one name during the Sprint. If the exchange is copied incorrectly, that operator will receive zero (0) points. In case of miscopied callsigns, both stations will receive zero (0) points for that QSO. SCORING: each valid QSO counts one 1 (one) point. The final score is the total number of QSOs. AWARDS: Colorful certificates will be issued to the winners of each Sprint, and to the leaders in each country. EU SPRINT PLAQUE: A special plaque will also be awarded for the top three scores from all four contests combined. To be eligible for this award an operator must enter at least three of the Sprints in the year. Results will be forwarded as soon as possible to Leagues, magazines and bulletins.
