Thursday night marks the exciting end of our summer fun-NCCC CW
Sprint contest. Especially notable is the competition in the
West of Mississippi division, where K5PTC(N1LN) and N3BB are too
close to call at this point.
[The situation is as follows: after 8 weeks of participation,
Bruce, N1LN, has 3828 points, but must drop his low score of
200 points for a base score of 3628. Jim, N3BB, has com-
peted in 6 NS so far, with 3533 points. Jim beat Bruce (aka Bob]
by an average of 150 points in NS #6,7,9 and 10, but in a couple
of these the margins were just 72 and 88 points. Neither of
these stations were seriously in the swath of Katrina; not true
for NS participant Tor, N4OGW, who had some beam damage and
was, this afternoon, still without power, but thankfully nothing worse.]
73 and good luck to all,
Bill N6ZFO
