I have tried Fujiyama Osaka on JAs.  Generally get a stunned silence.  
Did get one laugh, though.

many ops had a hard time copying my 3 since it is bracketed by a B and K - seems to get lost in sound shift.  i resorted to saying the number three times in groups of three.

that seemed to be the trick that worked.  i can't give advice on the zeros and the nines, but it works wonders for use in 3 land. 
 
another "trick" i used to get the op to copy the A, lost in the sound shift from K to Q, was to think of a city or country name near the DX station.  if they didn't understand ALPHA or AMERICA, i tried ARMENIA or ATHENS.  that really seemed to work too.
