I never met Jim in person. I only knew him through the many contest
exchanges, and as witness to the dramatic popularity increase of FQP
and FCG.
It's one of the things I hate about amateur radio. We're separated by
distance, and most of the time only communicate in quick bursts of cw.
But when the keys go silent, as they always do, the hurt is just as bad, just
as painful as if
we lost our brother or sister. It's a fraternity that bridges generations.
I'll miss the countdowns to FQP.
