Hi all. First, quickly, from where I view things, NAQP is way not broken.
Now, I need to find an audio switching appliance that does some things. I
can make said unit, but I need at least six of them, and I'm wondering if
anything similar is available off the shelf. This is not contest related,
but I couldn't think of a better place to throw out a query, and see what
happens.
Same scenario at each operating postion. One headset, at least three
radios. One footswitch. Radio A is highest priority. When a signal is
received on Radio A, it MUST be sent to earpiece. VOX-operated switching,
if necessary. I have no control signal available to force the thing to
Radio A otherwise. Any transmission, when initiated by footswitch, must be
sent to Radio A.
The operator needs to be able to select Radio B as main RX audio source as
an alternative to Radio A, still, though, if a signal appears from Radio A,
Radio A is in command. Radio C is a bit different in that the operator,
when selecting Radio C, should hear only Radio C, and neither A nor B.
Radio C will have a seperate footswitch and a desk microphone for
transmitting, so the TX side isn't really an issue with C, just the
receiver.
So, I need some manual A/B/C switching, where any received signal from A
captures the operator's headphones, whether or not a "QSO" is happening on
the other radios.
Sorry for confusing, possibly, and taking up your screen time with this, but
it's for good reason. Suggestions, questions, and comments are welcome
off-list.
