When looking at the WPX CW results, it appears that at this time of the
cycle, the main activity on 80m is from Europe. In Europe, are there
specific times when people QSY to 80m and work each other? Maybe QSY to 80m
on the half-hour? Or meet at 0000z on the 2nd night? Etc..
Many thanks, Kenny K2KW

When darkness comes the low bands come to life and with some 30 + "
countries" available oit makes sense to qsy to 80. The CW activity in
Eastern Europe is outstanding with many excellent operators. The big minus
are the East-European club stations, which run HIGH POWER and not always
have clean transmitters and therefore covers up more than their fair share
of the spectrum. We have at least a couple in Hungary and Ukraine + LY7A
which are notoriously bad.
I have suggested to CQ a penalty for bad signals, but so far without
success - unfortunately
