The Florida QSO Party website has a picture of the state of Florida's
counties. With a little over three weeks until the 2,001 running of FQP
this map is all Orange, no Green in sight.
What does that mean? Counties which have commitments from operators to be
active change from their original green color to orange...so:
All Florida Counties should once again be active for FQP 2,001!
This is perfect timing in that the Florida Contest Group is now sponsoring a
Worked All Florida Counties award. How do you get one...submit proof of
QSOs with FL Counties by means of log extracts - or - if you want you can
use your Florida QSO Party logs as that proof!
Wallpaper hunters looking for an easy way to get the new Worked All Florida
Counties award can do so simply by submitting a log for the FQP showing QSOs
with all 67 counties...or they can supplement their logs should they fail to
sweep with log data on the missing counties, tnx K4XS.
This years FQP is shaping up to be the biggest thus far with some out of
state hams wanting to be a part of the fun who will be driving over to
Florida just to do some mobiling with us! There should be about ten teams
mobiling the state, and also numerous fixed operations from hams and club
stations.
Please check out the FQP web site listed below, which just went over the
10,000 hit mark! Florida hams are urged to click on the counties on the air
tab and notify KD4RWN of their plans. You can also check the counties on
the air tab to see what county should be activated by who.
Join us in the fun! All the rules are on the web page...its an easy
exchange, it is supported by the major logging programs, its two 10 hour
shifts with time for sleep, there are cw and phone categories and Club
Competition...we think we have something for everyone, including you!
