What contesters do to each other and what they do to
non-contesters are two entirely different matters.
On SSB, a few kHz of "clear" frequency might be a contester's
dream, but the "majority" isn't happy with 10kHz.
The fact that some contesters can tolerate much more
QRM than others is totally lost on non-contesters
(and apparently on some contesters, too).
