As the station grows, the problem of only having
4 COM ports is becoming a sore point for me, not
to mention the lack of IRQs.
I know once upon a time someone recommended the
Rocketport. It's a board that has 4-32(!) RS-232
ports and only uses ONE or ZERO interrupts total.
At first I wasn't interested due to the $300 price
tag for an 8 port unit. Now I see them at $250,
but have found one place that has them for $155.
Now I'm interested.
I would like to hear from anyone using these boards.
What is your satisfaction level? Works well in DOS
as well as Windows? Works as advertised with the
zero or one IRQ? How does one configure a DOS (or
windows) program with 0 or 1 IRQ? (Such as the popular
contest logging and regular logging programs.)
Thanks,
