Thanks to Bill W4AN and Dave KM3T you can listen to P40E audio clips
recorded during P40E SOAB 1998 CQWW CW Record breaking effort in
http://www.contesting.com
Available to listen is the most productive hour, the best hour and the best
rate 10 minutes.
The most productive hour (amazingly) happened on 160 meters Sunday 03-04Z
and contributed with 580,000 points to the final score.
The best hour happened on 10 meter Saturday and resulted in 249 QSOs.
Including band changes on 15 and 20 to work ZS6DM and VE2/N6ZZ.
The best 10 minutes also happened on 10 meters Saturday and 51 QSOs were
worked at a rate of 306/hour.
The entire contest was recorded in a wav file using MPEG Layer-3 20 kBit/s,
11,025 Hz,compression . The file is 422 MB and was saved on a CD after the
contest. The program used was Recall Pro http://www.sagebrush.com
There is no difference between the quality of the sound from the original
file and the sound from the radio
Sound quality on www.contesting.com is not as good as the original due to
conversion from wav to realaudio.
Now anyone can listen and see what is like on the other side of the pile-up.
The entire CD with the the complete 48 hours of the contest may become
available if there is sufficient interest
