I, too, am interested in hearing of contest experience with the rig.
Because it lacks narrow crystal filters, relying entirely on the
IF DSP, I suspect the dynamic range close in is rather limited.
Kachina confirms something like 55 dB at 1 kHz in CW mode. That
doesn't sound like enough in a CW contest, and even Kachina admits
that rigs with crystal filters are better in this respect. But the
real test is to try it on a crowded band during a DX contest.
