Time and again, we hear that in some contests (SS and, of course, the
Sprints) getting a fast start is critical.
I find this very difficult, and it costs me. I've been there well before
the start, staked out a frequency, worked people to warm up, etc. Nothing
seems to work very well. By the end of the first hour, I tend to be 20
percent down in Qs compared to the first tier. My station isn't first
tier, either, but I don't think it's THAT bad.
How about sharing your personal technique for getting a fast start, and
I'll summarize if there's interest?
