Hi Tim,
I know how you feel. I had jury duty for 7 weeks...BUMMER!
Added requirements for Judgeship should be....
1. Must be a contestor.
2. No jury deliberations on a case on Friday prior to a contest.
On the jury duty questionaire there should be additional questions...
1. Are you a contestor? If so, which contest(s) and on what dates?
2. Would you like the Friday of the contest(s) off from jury duty to prepare
for that contest?
----I don't think thats too much to ask, do you?? HI.
73,
John K1RC

"Judicial System Stops Contestor".
Well that's my headline.
The story is not quite as interesting.
I got placed on a jury 7 days before the ARRL SSB contest.
"But your honor I have a contest to operate......"
Hmmm I didnt think that would work.
We finally came up with a verdict Friday night 30 mins into the contest.
Since my contest station I use (WC6H) is 2 hrs away there was not much
chance to limit the damage. Besides I was tired and I already had called
Rich the night before and canceled.
So....that ends my string of 5 consecutive Pacific Division wins......Oh
well.
I knew it couldn't last forever, but that's not the way I imagined it would
stop.
Hope you all had fun!
Tim - NU6S
PS Anybody here try to get off a jury due to a contest?
Id like to know if you had any luck!
My judge had no sense of humor! :-)
