Subject: Reduced Loop for 80m
Message-ID: <1.5.4.32.19970128132127.0067aecc@ax.apc.org>
Dear friends,
Does anyone have experienced a reduced size loop for 80m? I have room enough
to raise two 32ft poles with a distance of 65 ft between them. I thinking about
something like that:
MAST 1 MAST 2
|----------------------------------------|
|| | |
|| coax | |
32ft ||---------- | |32 ft
|| | |
|| | |
|| 65 ft | |
||----------****----------------------- |
coil
Does anyone have a similar project? Does it work?
ON4UN's book have full size loops with about 70% of the wire in the horizontal
plane and 30% of the wire in the vertical plane. If I use a coil to reduce
the size, it's going to work? Can I expect a better DX performance over a
dipole
40 ft over the ground? The K6STI's software modelates an antenna like that?
A project would be welcome.
Best regards to everybody and see you all in the ARRL CW!

Thinking about putting up the SG-230 autotuner with some sort of wire
antenna. Ever try it? Good or bad experiences? Let me know. Tnx, Bob

NO ATTACHEMENTS !!!! I will not post attached scores.
Do not post any scores to the Contest Reflector, only to me direct or to
the 3830 reflector.
These are NOT OFFICIAL SCORES so do not send me logs or anything like a
log. I am on affilated with the CQ Mag or the contest committee.
Remember if I get any scores with only Single Op or no class on it I will
put you in Single Op High Power.
I realize there is not such class as MultiOP/LP. It is only for the guys
who want to see how they placed against each other.

Subject: Internal Contest Keyer of FT1000MP?
Message-ID: <Pine.A32.3.95.970128184714.23187A-100000@rs3.szif.hu>
HI friends,
some weeks ago I built the switch needed for the Contest Keyer of the MP.
The programmable message memories work well but the contest number
doesn't, as well as the decrement/increment function.
The switch has been built as it's described in the manual. When I press
the buttons assigned for transmit number/increment/decrement the rig beeps
but there's no other reaction.
Any experience with this?
