I always thought it was like you would park your car in that first slot in
the aisle....so you could only have to worry about one side of the cars' door
being smacked by a lid! Not having to fight on one side of you seems a lot
easier.....not to mention the psychological macho testesterone pole position
thing otherwise known as AR syndrome. :-)
Plus an awful lot of people turn on the rig and start tuning at the bottom of
the band by instinct....I dunno why - other than that I do it because I have
a poor memory and if I don't start there I won't remember where I began when
it is time to make a second sweep!

No small talk, just one question:
Do the CQWW rules say anything against submitting several Single Op / Single
Band
entries with the same callsign?
We're planning an effort like this from the club, since we cannot swing a "real"
M/M entry, but would like to play on more than one band... Of course, we're
gonna
go by the rules fom Single op / unassisted etc etc.
I couldn't find anything in the rules about this, and I haven't been able to
find
any other guidelines in this matter... When asking other contesters, I have
reveived
about 50/50 yes and no opinions, but no "hard facts" which is what I'm
looking for.
So, can anyone come up with the "truth" here, or is it up to us to decide?

For a long time, I considered the contest community to be the most with it
& switched on folks in this hobby, based on my experience having once
worked in the amateur radio industry.
Unfortunately, the discussion here has deteriorated to the point that I am
beginning to wonder if contesters, or at least many of those in the US who
are on CQ-CONTEST, do not deserve that respect.
We're all here because we're interested in radiosport. While callsigns are
a part of it, the bandwidth devoted to discussing vanity calls went well
over the top some time ago.
Before posting your next message about your new call, the call you didn't
get, the call somebody else got that you feel shouldn't or the like, please
consider whether or not it really contributes to an _international_ forum
on contesting.
