I have started a new section on my web site. It contains technical
reference material that I have collected from various sources. Some
of it is articles I have written, some are messages from various
reflectors, and some of it is links to other technical articles (like
w3lpl on bevereges from contesting.com). I am trying to organize it
so that it is easy to find articles on particular topics. I plan on
continuing to expand this resource and would appreciate any articles,
notes, or links of a technical nature.
you can get to it from any of my pages, or direct at

YB1AQS will participate next week as Single OP Allband
from Bandung, West Java - Indonesia.
After 600 QSO's with DL only in the Worked All Germany contest
this weekend I'm optimistic.
I'm using 3el-Quad (65ft high) on high bands, looking specially for
all of America (N-Middle-S) during test.
Low Band still limited with 250ft asymmetric driven Inv-Vee,
nevertheless I'll try.

I recently had a severe lightning strike which literally
destroyed all the rigs in the shack. I set about to repair
my OMNI VI. Ten-Tec tech support was absolutely fantastic.
They were there when I needed questions answered, and had in
stock, every single IC and transistor that I needed. (Took out
over 30 ICs and Xsistors) They were very supporting and the
prices were excellent. I had to place 3 orders for parts, and
they were in my hands the next day after each order !!!!
I can NOT give this kind of report for the "other" radios in
my shack. They have become "boat anchors". Hats off to
Ten-Tec for an excellent product and the BEST SUPPORT!!!!!

I wonder if others had a red number writen in on the face of their
Vanity Callsign Fee checks sent to the FCC ?
I assume that some form of numbering was done in the recording in
order of placement of the checks into a bank deposit. My check had a
handwriten large #14 on the face of the check. I don't know if it is
sequential for maybe a 25 or 50 item deposit slip or any other reason.
With all the reports of the FCC having no RANDOM computer facilities
and some verbal assurances that first trays would see first contact I
guess I'm as anxious as everyone else to second guess what's about to
happen.

Hello All,
I had a power supply failure about two weeks ago and have been offline
since then. I have just about finished skimming throught the 3000+
messages that were waiting for me when I got back on line so if anyone
was expecting a reply/answer/message from me and refresh my memory
because I probably missed a lot of stuff.

Contesters!
Due to business commitments, I will be unable to do the CQ WW CW from Carl
Cook's P40V Aruba location this year as planned. Therefore, be advised that
the station is available for anyone interested in a world class effort. It
will be helpful if you have or have had in the past an Aruban amateur
license since time is growing short. If you are interested, call Carl ASAP
at 510-432-2992 during business hours on the west coast.
