Sorry for the bandwidth, but this is at least as relevant as 300 vanity
call messages.......
Trying to add COM3 & COM4 to a Win 95 system. Any tips? Do I want a PnP
board or a regular ISA board that I can manipulate? What DOS programs will
run under Win95 and handle COM3/COM4 and the weird IRQs? CT? TR? RTTY?
So far, using a ISA board and manually changing the configuration in Win
95, COM3 locks up COM1 and COM4 locks up COM2 like the IRQs are being
ignored.
I'm not re-inventing the wheel here. What's everyone doing to interface
their rigs, rotors, TNCs, etc??

Just browsing my CQ Magazine and reflecting on my "good" 15m single band
score. Then I happened to check out the Single-Op AB guys in anticipation of
this year's WW SSB.
As it should happen, even after spending all weekend on 15M, John still
murdered me on 15M while still operating 5 other bands.
When we operated at K4VX/0 we used 1/2 of K1AR's SOAB score as "quite an
accomplishment" in the M/S class from Missouri.
I'm re-alligning my perspective again. :)

Yes, and as an analogy let's examine another love of mine...drag racing. A
driver with seemingly inferior equipment can often beat a superior opponent
through quicker reaction time to the "Christmas tree" starting lights (this
is known as a "hole shot"). Depending on the amount of advantage gained at the
start, sometimes only hundredths of a second, the underdog will cross the
finish line first even though his opponent posts a faster elapsed time and
higher speed. A short and easy call is the contester's hole shot.
(In memory of my "homey" (neighbor) Blaine Johnson, NHRA Top Fuel dragster
driver and current points leader who lost his life at 309MPH this weekend at
the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. The 'hood won't be the same without you
Blaine). Chin up and I'll see you all in Maple Grove, PA!
