ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ
Hello, contesters...
I am PY2NY, operator of PW2N, special call for contests
in BRAZIL.
CQ WW SSB Contest is near, and I'll operate on all
bands, LOW Power Class.
I'd like to have attention from people in North America
and Europe, asking for a little chance from you. Try
to put your antennas into our direction, and try to
call us in South America. The propagation will be our
common enemy!!!
PW2N will operate with K1EA soft, Kenwood TS140S and
antennas: 2 element Quad 10-15-20 Meters (13 m high) ;
inverted Vees 40-80 meters (10 m high); windom for 160
meters (also 10 m high only!!!!).
Listening my signals during the Contest, please put
me in your local Packet Cluster, I will try to break
my QSO number records (1850)...
Hope to work you. QSLs ok via Bureau to Home Call:
P Y 2 N Y - Vitor Luis Aidar dos Santos
Bye!

Subject: ANY BIG LINEARS? (last call)
Message-ID: <199510111342.PAA14335@proffa.cc.tut.fi>
Sorry to waste bandwidth again, but i got much more
summary requests, than comments to my last attempt.
I DO need all the possible information on pros and
cons of any big linears, and you guys must have it!
Pse share your experiences with me! Perhaps you then
will get OH and/or OH0-multipliers more easily on
forthcoming contests! :-)
I'm getting desperate, you will soon find just another
/qrp -station on every possible pileup if you don't
help me to find out which linears is reliable but
cheap to buy. ;-))
*******************************************************
I'll make a good example here (my own experiences):
I can't recommend Tokyo Hy Power HL2K. I had one, and
lost 3 tubes during 4 years, because it warms up so badly!
It gave decent output, but it was too tricky. Perhaps
it's not in stock anymore, or they might have changed
the design. The original fan was far too little, and
after removing the original fan and equipping it with
enough big blower instead it was not good for SSB
anymore (terrible noise, but it was cool enough).
I do know other similar with same kind of troubles! The
owner even lost the HV-transformer for the same reason.
*******************************************************
Any input appreciated, I will post the summary (if there
will be anything to post) to the reflector. If you
prefer staying anonymous, i can remove your identification
from the summary. Or even remove your info from that summary
if needed.
TNX!
Pete

Hello guys.
Hard to believe, but after more than two years my W7 "buro pack"
finally arrived. I have no idea why there has been such a delay.
More than a thousand cards are for the C56/KF7AY (1993) and 9G5WH (1994)
operations from Western Africa.
I will do my best to get these out to everyone as soon as possible.
If for any reason you need a QSL quickly, e-mail me and I will send it
to you direct.
Anyone else had the same experience?

It seems to me there are enough IRC's currently in circulation that no
ham should have to buy a new one. We just need some kind of global
clearinghouse system. A way to get buyers and sellers together. Maybe via
the internet somehow.

Score not quite right as CT would count a mobile station in a new county
as a dupe.
15 meters was DEAD to West coast from here. Heard midwest stations on
scatter running 6's and heard some East coast direct F skip.
For those SS CW fans, propagation last weekend should be of interest, as
it was 27 days until SS CW. Looks like high A and K indices again this
year. DARN!

Hello, I am looking for software for my Omni 6 and Paragon II. Any
suggestions? Sources of programs?
I realize Icom software will work.
Thanks, Dalton

I was wrong about the OMNI-VI VFO lock. After using a Paragon for a number
of years, which did work the way I described, I confused that with the
OMNI which I have been using this last year. The OMNI does lock both
VFO's. This could be improve. Guess I haven't been chasing enough split
DX this last year.
