It has been interesting reading the comments from the VHF contest.

It seems some of the rovers stayed home because of the new rules, and
it seems that others went out there anyway and had a great time.

My hat is off to those that put together a roving station and drive
around giving out mutlipliers to as many people as possible. I have
experienced a similar thing county hopping for the CQP and later for
the Armadillo runs.

To those that stayed in the garage because of some point calculation
methods: If it isn't a fun thing to do on its own, then maybe you
should find something that is more fun.

I believe that roving should be a non competitive event. I do not
want to be part of a contest that makes it a cut throat competition
where driving fast to the next grid pays off. After one of our
contesting brothers looses his life trying to maximize his score
we might get our perspective back.

If you want to be a winner, then get on a hill top. If you want to
drive around and hand out mults, then do that. It is nice that
the contest allows you to enter different categories so everyone
can do what they want and feel good about it.
