Here are some of the claimed scores of Canadian entrants in the
1994 CQ WW DX SSB. If you have any information on other Canadian claimed
scores, please let me know. I write a monthly column on contesting in the
Canadian magazine "The Canadian Amateur" (TCA), and I would like to include
as many claimed or rumoured scores as possible.

I second the motion for part-time entries (which I've advocated before).
Rather than picking the BEST 8 hours, I suggest limiting op time to a
certain period, whether 8, 12, or 24 hours, not a best out of whatever.
This way, part of the op's "skill" is deciding when to operate, and when
to placate the family.

Yes, some guys get VERY protective of THEIR frequencies.
The worst I've experienced was while operating CQWW RTTY, CQing at 7035.
The CW ragchewers go nuts, telling me RTTY "belongs" at 070. Not in
Europe it doesn't! Maybe I should tell them I'm a military station in
Haiti...

Trey - I don't know about your experience with ARRL's time listing for
SS, but a few years ago I operated 4 hours, had a very good rate, and I
was listed as operating 24 hours. I dropped them a note, and they said a
correction would be listed, but it never was.
