All of my co-workers think I'm really cool since I must know John Tesh.
There was a substitute for him with Mary Hart since he was away for a "ham
radio contest". All right - what's his callsign and where was he ?

Great JA run the 2nd night, lousy the 1st night. Best DX HZ1AB and 9K2ZZ
on long path. Beat the US record by a slim margin, at least till the logs
are checked. But there is likely a higher score out there somewhere.

Somebody had asked about John Tesh. You don't suppose this is
him, do you? If so, he looks awfully well-preserved on TV!

42 percent of all QSOs were with Japan.
Equipment:
FT-1000D, LP for 10m, 6-el 15m, 4-el 20m, 40m dipole, 80m loop
Contest behavior observations:
1. The last two letters disease has reached Japan and Europe. I
had numerous JAs respond with their last two letters when they
were the only ones calling me. Fewer Europeans, but still some.
2. The "How Long Can I Go Without Giving My Callsign Award" goes
to the CT1 who refused to give his callsign, berated someone who
worked him as a dupe, finally gave his callsign once, but not
phonetically. After being badgered by many, finally gave his
callsign phonetically (once).
Comment:
A number of us here in Southern California were annoyed by the
big East Coast contest stations (the ones that we will see at
the very top of the results) sitting in the DX window on 80m
calling CQ Contest, when there were DX stations in the Pacific
trying to work the U.S. For this particular contest, there should
be a gentleman's agreement for U.S. stations to not use the 80m
DX window as run frequencies.
