This was my first (out of 20) CQ WW 160 without any QSO with USA!
P49I made my day by finally replaying about 07Z on Sunday morning.
I moved recently and my excellent 200m LW sloped NW from 18th floor
down to 4th was replaced by 20m very low 78m long Windom. However,
condx on Sat were poor but improved slightly on the second night.
I managed 324 QSO on S & P only, 55 DX and abt 80K points.
Leading Slovenian stations S50A (ex YU3EY), S59A (ex YU3ZV) &
S59AA (ex YU3BC from YT3L/YZ3A site) worked about 600 QSO each
and 70 mults (about 20 USA & 10 JA).
Let me propose change of start time for CQ WW 160m to 16:00 UTC
as it is already dark in EU & AS so we can have 2 full nights as USA.
I am aware that NA guys would not have much to do during daylight
but we are practically off from contest on Sun after sunrise.
Main reason for my sugestion is that plenty of EU stations actually
started working each other after 16 Z claiming that rules had changed!

P.S. I strongly support CT1BOH proposal for CQ WW scoring changes
although my approach to contesting is pure old-fashioned Olympian:

When N6DX called me at 0017z the first night I thought it was a
sign of good conditions, but I was wrong. The band got very
noisy Friday and conditions were poor to Europe. Only 3 or 4
Europeans worked, and I qrt at 0800z. Conditions improved
dramatically on Saturday. At 0100z I started getting occassional
Eu answers to my CQs. Around 0400z the band really opened up.
My rate for the next couple of hours was 55 - 65, and about half
the stations were Eu. Conditions were also better to the west
than they had been the first night, and I filled in the last
missing states, Utah (thanks Alan) and NDak. I again qrt at
0800, the got up at 1200 to work the Sunday morning stragglers.
It sure is boring calling cq during daylight hours just to make
10 qsos/hr.
I have relay just outside the basement window that allows me to
short both sides of the feedline together and feed the inverted
vee against ground. I used it this way about half the time.
Surprisingly, it works best into Europe as a center-fed inverted
vee, and in general I can hear better this way, but it works
better to the west when fed against ground. I have about 20
short 30' radials buried in the lawn to give it something to work
against.

Missed PEI, LAB, NWT, and YU. Conditions to Europe on Friday night were
superb. It sounded like 80 meters! The second night was much, much
different, though. I've included the .BRK file with a column showing Eu
contacts made in each hour.
I used a Timewave DSP-9 on the 940. I found it quite effective at
removing the high frequency hiss coming from the receiver, and it also
did a nice job of cleaning up the cw monitor tone, which had some
annoying clicks.
I had a great time, and it was a pleasant change of pace from the near-zero
degree temperatures we were experiencing in the Philadelphia area. Thanks
to everybody for all the QSOs. If anybody needs a QSL, I can help you out
for this contest only. I'm good in the callbook.
Info on KP2A would be appreciated, as a point of comparison.
