SSB 98 40 = 40,128.
Took the last three hours to watch the cowboys thrash the
vikings. Found condx to be poor, never got a respectable
rate going. I geuss the place to be was one skip zone out
from North America. Never heard any Europeans, Africa or the
far east.

What a difference a month and a half makes:
In the 1993 CQWW SSB contest worked 60 JAs on 10-meters from
the same QTH with same equipment, low power, no JAs during
10 meter contest (only 2 heard).
What a difference 2 years makes:
During the 1991 10-meter Contest worked 43 JAs and
25 Europeans using low power and a vertical antenna.
Heard virtually nothing west of the Mississippi, except
locals. Can hardly wait for next year !

I decided after the good run to the east coast subsided on Saturday
morning, that the smart thing to do was to operate as long as I could keep
the rate up over 100 Q's per minute. I got bored late Sunday morning, and
basically threw the switch about 1830Z. I did get on late in the afternoon
to work a few south americans.
For this contest, it could be said WHAT'S DX? Oh, there is none beyond the
Carribean and South America, right?
Oh, well, I enjoyed some good runs to 1 and 2 land, for a while hitting
more than 300 q's per hour which is a really high rate for my station and
operating style.
