In an effort to get away from 24 hour contesting & remote amps (yawn)...
Trey and I were discussing the log checking procedures and practices of
the league regarding the SS recently. He pointed out to me that they
will remove extra QSO's for a broken call (I think it was 3). Since
the callsign is basically just another part of the exchange SS and is
no more difficult to copy than the rest of the exchange, why would it
seem necessary to penalize a person an extra 3 QSO's for a broken call?
With their computer, they can find just about any broken call anyway!
I asked Billy Lunt about this very situation recently and he didn't
really seem to have a strong opinion one way or another. He is just
checking the logs the way the rules currently read. It's up to us to
change the rules... Should this one be changed?
