Just flew in from Hawaii, and ARE MY ARMS TIRED!!....baboom
Thanks to all for the many QSOs from NH6T(ARRL CW M/S) and
K7SS/KH6 (ARRL SSB S/O QRP). CW Score was 4.7mil 4700 QSOs.
Did it with N0AX, and big help from AH6AZ who maintained the
diesel generator. Likely a new Oceania record. Operated from
the contest site on north shore of Maui, sight of WR6R/KH6,
NH6T, W0ZZ/KH6, etc. You will be hearing more from that
station!
Did SSB from K6GSS/KH6 qth with TH6/2 el40/loop system and
a very good shot to Mainland. Planned on doing a 100watt
entry and going for the World record. UNFORTUNATELY THERE
IS NO CLASS FOR LOW POWER OUTSIDE THE US!!! Is this a
clerical mistake in the announcement, or do we really
expect all DX stations to run either a KW or 5 watts??
Many countries dont allow KWs and that means all these
years we have been pitting KWs against 100 watters. SOME
PROBLEM HERE!!!! Ran in QRP cuz I wasnt set up with a KW.
some choice , huh? Did over 2600 QSOs QRP which is best Ive
ever done in ARRL QRP class. Bands were very good to Eu
first day and that slowed rates, but SID (I think) took out
all bands for 1 hour Saturday noon, and the Eu path was never
good after that, which got many more guys looking SW for QSOS
for the rest of the test. Solar disturbance can be a mixed
blessing!.... Sorry about that!
Id like to know how NP4Z did in QRP, and also V7A.
I would like especially to know how V7A and K7SS/KH6 sounded
on the mainland on ALL BANDS. He told me he was using the
same antenna on 10-15-20, and a beam on 40 so I would very
much like to hear from those of you who heard us both.
If you can recall, PLEASE SEND A NOTE ON COMPARATIVE STRENGTH
DIFFERENCES FROM V7A AND K7SS/KH6 in ARRL SSB
V7A was also on in ARRLCW as V73C (QRP).
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE QSOs and ENCOURAGING WORDS!
MAHALO and ALOHA
Danny K7SS
. And also how V7A sounded
