How are you deciding that the display is out of cal?
If you are using the internal sidetone generator in the
process, that is just a R/C oscillator set up with 1%
resistors. It may have drifted. The recommended way
to check the display on a FT-1000 is to tune WWV using
SSB. Switch from lower to upper sideband while listening
while WWV is transmitting a steady tone. Set dial to the
point where the tone does NOT change pitch when changing
sidebands. Read frequency. At room temp, and with the
radio
running for 30 min, it should show no error, if you are
using
the better TCXO. The non-D version may have a little. At
my
location, in the US midwest, I use 10MHz.
How are everyone's radios holdng up?
