He's right. Test your cable from both ends it should be a straght through cable with no cross wires like most have. ie. pin #1 to pin #1 / pin 2 to pin #2 Some cables have Pin #1 and at the other end is pin #6 So just make sure its all straght through. It took me 3 hours to find a straght through cable out of a pile of cables to connect my FT 1000 Mark V to my logging and contest programs.
