Hello to all I am looking for some people with good electronics and analyzing
skills. I will state the obvious of my trouble here and maybe someone can help.
I hope that this is posted so I can get someone to help me.

I own a VX-7R 2/440/6/220 HT. I had it for about 10 Months working finew then
one day al by itself it quit recieving the local repeater and police bands on
155Mhz. I then sent it off to Yeasu.
When Yeasu recieved my HT per my conversation with Fred at Yaesu the manager
of the repair department I was told the technician working on my radio opened
it up and found evidence of someone working on my HT that I had never worked on
myself nor had let out of my hands since I received it from AES.
I then was told there were human soldering on the board. Then Antenna seal was
broke, and components were missing. I was told they did not know how it could
work at all. I was told my readio was Dead!

So since I have had it back now I have had time to re-test my HT and it is in
the same shape it was when delivered to Yaesu.

Here are the findings.

in Simplex mode I can transmit and receive on any frequency.
When I am in Repeater mode with the Shift on I can not recieve but
I can transmit.
Example of this is that I can key up the local repeater but I can not hear it
when it transmit back. I have checked this with another HT.
I can not recieve police either. But I can recieve the police in the 440Mhz
range just not in the 155Mhz range.

I am not certain what to do now. Anyone e-mail thier thoughts and questions.

-Sean
