Hi Doc,
Of course it's illegal, unless specific permission has been given for
distribution by the companies themselves. The funny part is, I suspect most
of these resellers are simply running copies from the many PDF files of
manuals that are out there on the Internet if you spend the time to look.
As long as these sites are sanctioned by the manufacturer I feel fine about
downloading a copy FOR MY USE but would not distribute to others.
Go to this Yaesu link and download the PDF of your future VX-7R, it's the
last item on this page:
http://www.yaesu.com/indexVS.cfm?cmd=DisplayProducts&ProdCatID=111&encProdID=GcixovTmTQk%3D&DivisionID=65&isArchived=0&currTab=tab_Description&currDiv=DescriptionDiv&ExpandID=430,Features
If this "business" gets much bigger perhaps the manufacturers will feel it's
worthwhile to pursue these guys in court.
Best 73,
Ron ND5S
