Help needed for repairing FT-1000D.
Panel meter on FT-1000D shows high SWR with the power contol turned
all the way down. No difference with the tuner in or out. When the
power control is turned up, The SWR meter pegs.
With a Bird watt meter inserted into the following places no SWR is
detected:
(1) J7201 input to the LP Filter board
(2) J7207 ouypuy of the LP filter board
(3) Between the antenna jack and an external dummy load.
The Protection Unit board cuts the output power back to just a few
watts.
DC voltage measured at J7204, output of the LPF board shows
reflected voltage is higher than the forward voltage.
With the plugs removed from jacks J7203 and J7204 of the LPF Unit,
the output power into the dummy load comes back up to the rated power
of the FT1000-D with no SWR. (But, of course, there is no meter
reading of power and SWR on the panel meter.)
Diodes D7202 and D7204 were changed but the problem remains.
Has anyone on the list been through this one before?
