Hi all,

I recently purchased an FT-990DC and i am really happy with it. I can
overlook the "hiss" on ssb/cw on quiet bands but I notice a bit of
distortion when a strong hetrodyne or strong SSB signal. It almost sounds
like like the speaker is buzzing a bit, but it is definately in the AF amp
someplace, with headphones it isnt there at all. I tried a couple of
different external speakers and its still the same. Is this normal from
these radios? It appears that the dynamic range of the audio amp is pretty
wide, AM BCB and SW sounds really great. Or maybe this is common problem, I
read through the archives here but didnt see anything about it. Just
wondering if there was a mod for this or maybe a trip back to Yaesu is in
order...

Thanks for reading,
Kevin
