I just made a cable for my MP that seems to work fine.  Here is the =
hookup:

FT1000MP DB9F                                                 PC DB25F
pin 5---------------------------- shield =
-----------------------------pin 7
pin 3----------------------------  SI =
---------------------------------pin 2
pin 2----------------------------  SO -------------------------------pin =
3

I think if you use a 9 pin connector on your PC then pin 3 should be =
connected to pin 3, pin 2 to pin2 and pin 5 to pin 5 but I have not =
tested that.
